Today we have launched SynbioCareers.com, quite a simply a listing of industry jobs available within the field of synthetic biology.

Online profiles and accounts are not required, here you will find just the job details, categorised into relevant domains and in an easy to search format.

From the listings, you can link to a brief about the company with some extracts from their website, to the company website itself or directly to the application form.

We have also included a summary page where we outline the jobs, both past and present, which have appeared on the website. This is also intended to bolster the bio we build up on each company, we've noticed that the roles advertised give a quite unique window to the functions happening within the walls of the business that are sometimes not immediately apparent from the company website and blogs.

Hi, in quick succession we have created a new website to act as a listing for all Synthetic Biology companies including those that do not necessarily produce consumer products. Reading so many websites and articles as part of our work for SynBuyo.com we've realised that actually most do not.

Whilst undertaking this work we've been getting quite familiar with the industry, how it's shaping up and some of the key players and we think it's worth sharing some of the those insights through a database and website for those interested in the industry and how the landscape of interconnected companies is emerging.

At this stage in the development of the industry how it may mature over time, to us at least, seems quite unclear. Understanding how this industry may adopt and tweak existing business models such as app store economics and foundry services or overcome it unique challenge through innovation and collaboration is definitely a story we look forward to understanding and sharing.

Although fundamentally this is a database of companies and their products, services and connections, in recording this data we will inevitably outline the technology, science and computing that are being applied to facilitate the progression and adoption of the industry.

The name, we're calling the records we have on each of these companies it's company bio, one could argue only people have bios, but as this database describes a company's characteristics, approach, methods and network we think the name works.
